The Stansbury Tri took place out in Tooele. Scary, I know. We did it though....1:47. Twelve minutes less than St. George. Still not great, but considering our circumstances, we did it!! I loaned out my sweetheart's bike the morning of the race and of course didn't think to check Sara's biking shoes and make sure they were compatible. Nope. We figured that out after our 10 minute transition from the swim and started our bike ride. Sara hesitated to say anything as she struggled to get her shoes clipped in, eventually i noticed and we stopped to try and force them into place. Wrong shoes, wrong pedals. She had to run back to the transition area, put on her running shoes and then ride the 12 miles with clips and no shoes to clip into. She did amazing though! We had a blast :) We rocked the run at an 8 1/2 min./mile pace (sorry sar) and made up for the majority of our swim that we spent laughing, dog paddling, pulling ourselves out of weeds and looking for each other. We decided that if we are ever going to race seriously for good times, we can't do it together cause we have way too much fun and laugh way too hard to be fast!
I was honored to be apart of Team Pink....Mike and Sar were nice enough to let me join them in their endeavor to "SCLU you" :) Mike took 3rd in his age division and I like to think of it as a Team medal..... I mean really, he couldn't have done it if I hadn't driven him out there ;) My favorite part of the day was riding around the last corner to see our little pink fan club sitting on the curb! It was the cutest thing ever. Easton and Maci were so cute together....they just chased each other around giggling and exploring. Cody- I can't thank you enough for your help! It meant the world to see my Schwimp there and I couldn't have had that without your help! Thank You!
Maci soaked through her diaper and had to run around in just her shirt and diaper.....it was freaking cute and she didn't seem to mind! Of course we had to celebrate our victory with a big old Cafe Rio salad and Large Diet Dr. Peppers, the only way to do it.
So, that's it for me. Now I get to be a normal preggers without 6am training sessions. It was tough but worth it. My goal was to overcome my fear of swimming and I did it. Check! Next year I'll be back to it and anxious to do it in less than an hour and thirty minutes! Thanks for the killer time Team Pink!
Some memorable quotes from the day:
Some memorable quotes from the day:
"Nice pace ladies"---really? Is there a more polite way to say...dang, your slow!?
"Are you....you know...?" Yes! I am pregnant! Quit staring at me in my wetsuit!
"Can we get a picture with you Sir? We want to be like you when we're old."-- Oh Sar....awkward!
"This water really is clean. We tested the quality. It just smells really bad, I don't know what happened."---Thanks race director....comforting words just before jumping in the water.
"You are the only ones that came out smiling"--apparently you aren't supposed to be smiling and laughin after you swim, come in close to last and fall as your trying to stand up.

You're amazing! How fun to do it with a friend. I really want to do this, but I don't know that I'm as freakin' awesome as you! Preggo & all - way to go girl.
Seriously, I can't believe you did this pregnant! Your 8 1/2 minute pregnant mile is still better than mine! You're an animal! Great job!
