Wewease the Secwet Weapon!!!

Since I don't currently have a fully functioning camera and thus cannot post anything pertinent to our lives or catch up and recent activities......I thought I'd share my latest discovery.
I call it my Secret weapon. I've done a lot of intense training this summer. Many days worse than others. So I set out on a quest to find the perfect fuel for the above mentioned training. I swear on the little hair that Maci has on her head that this is the BEST breakfast ever......

Start with 1/2 cup old-fashioned steel cut oats. Add 3/4 cup water, 1/4-1/2 tsp salt and microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. (No fail recipe....taken me years to perfect)
Spritz with 5-6 sprays of my favorite chemical concoction....
Stir in 2 tsp whole chia seeds (found at your local nutrition store)....make sure you stir well or you'll get seed lumps.

Drizzle with Agave nectar.

I love a bit of almond milk with it too....regular old milk will suffice...but I recommend this brand of Almond milk.AMAZING!

I've tried many pre-workout breakfasts.....granola bars, banana and PB, yogurt, toast....this is the BEST!! Tons of fiber, energy, carbs and good fats(in the chia seeds). All for around 200 calories. It gets me through my workouts and is so good. Just so you know :)

Okay so that kind of seems like a major breakfast for a few mile run for the likes of me. I usually roll out of bed and maybe grab a piece of toast. Should I be eating a full-on breakfast, or is this more if you're doing some intense long distance stuff? Also, where is your local nutrition store? And is that where you also get that Agave Nectar?

Ang-
I usually only eat this if I am doing more than 10 miles. Otherwise I do toast or a banana :)
You can get agave nectar at any store now...It is usually by the honey/sugar or "health food" section. I go to Bountiful Nutrition for the chia seeds :)
Or just stop by and I'll make you some of the "weapon"!

Wow how on earth did you come up with this combo!? You amaze me! And is it yummy at all? Or just the best fuel?

i can jive with most of this but the butter spray is throwing me off. i love butter a little too much, but in cereal?? i'm not so sure.

i'll stick to nutella on white bread. helps me get through my non-existent workout.

you amaze as always!

Thank you, Kristin! I thought maybe it was a little much if it took me longer to make and eat breakfast than it did to actually run :) It sounds good for after my little runs though. Thank you!

Have this almost every morning, minus the butter spray and chia seeds, add some walnuts and blueberries. :) Love almond milk, have you tried the dark chocolate? It is yummy!

Hope your training and events are going well!
