You haven't been the worst day ever,
But you are FAR from the Best.
You Crept up on me as I cared for a genuinely sick, very kind elderly Woman.....
Who graciously called me "Honey Child".
Up until 7:30 a.m. you were fairly exciting and insightful...
I spent your early hours flitting about the dry, cluttered halls of
the Emergency Room....
Learning, laughing, caring, planning and soaking up MY time.
I hurried home to the warmth and safety of my Hubby,
crawled into HIS side of the bed and
willingly clung to a few precious hours of sleep.
I woke with a smile to a tiny voice in my doorway.....
You lent me a few treasured moments of snuggles.
I counted my blessings as I played with my angels.
Your hours passed SLOWLY with feelings of
exhaustion, Guilt, determination, hope and Joy.
You suppressed my energy with your stifling degrees of heat.
You robbed me of a nap, a rarity that I did NOT appreciate.
We opted to make something of you....
and set out with a purpose.
.....we made it as far as Costco.
Specifically, the most traveled aisle in the middle of the store,
Before you spewed your secret vengeance upon us
(okay so Maci spewed her lunch but that sounds explicit and not nearly as dramatic)
in front of a disgusted and uncaring crowd.
It was THEN that you crossed the LINE and lost your Charm.
As I carried one naked child, another crying child and a bag of soiled clothing....
Abandoning the goods in my cart,
I cursed you.
Not out loud, There were Babes in my arms and many eyes upon me......
But absolutely in mind.
We retreated.
You won.
We weren't prepared,
and you beat me.
At last they are sleeping,
Nothing crossed of my To-Dos,
You allowed me no training, no progress, no strength.
I'm done with you now.
Thank Heaven.
Tomorrow.......
HERE I COME!

HA! You make me laugh, you little wannabe drama queen. I love you. Just drop the girls off here for a bit so you can get some stuff done - The boys are dying to play with them.
xo
I was feeling your pain last Thursday. I have these creeping days far too often! Hallelujiah it's over and hopefully today isn't as overwhelming. I'm sure it'll never happen again!!! =}
You are so poetic. I love to hear your day by day routines. I'd share mine, but they might be a little vulgar. =)
I'm sorry Douglas. Nothin worse than barf.
Very nice!
