Woot! First "race" of the season down! It was awesome ;)I've never participated in any of the Salt Lake Marathon events so it was all a pretty new experience for all of us. I loved the course! It was beautiful and so surreal to be running down the middle of State Street in SLC. So crowded though. There were so many people!
It was a gorgeous day! A little chilly in the morning, not half as bad as some others later in the year though! Mandolin, Tiff, Tash, Cara and I all did the Half Marathon.
We parked at the Triad Center and rode Trax up to the U of U campus at the Olympic Bridge where the start line was. It was an interesting ride. If you know me you know I LOVE watching people. Not in a creepy way, I just find people fascinating and highly entertaining to watch ;) Part of the reason i love my job so much! There was no shortage of good people watching. Runners are hilarious. They come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, at different skill levels and different intensity of personality. Some are SO passionate, others roll out of bed and don't think twice about it.
Long story short- we Finished!
I went to bed early the night before and didn't see Tan when he got home from traveling for a whole week, then left super early in the morning and missed him then. It was AWESOME to see him as I crossed the finish line. He even woke the girls up early, got them "ready" for the occasion, picked up my co-op produce basket and remembered to bring the stroller!

The bathroom situation was ridiculous. I have never been in a more disgusting 'Honey Bucket'.....no less waited in line over 45 min to use one.

That is AWESOME! Good for you! We do the Susan G Komen race every year in SLC but I never run the whole thing! Great job!
