Apologies for the crummy pictures....I am in hate with my camera. Despite the poor attempts to capture "memories" of this event, we had a blast.
I have the BEST memories of pumpkin carving when I was younger! We would take a family trip to the pumpkin patch, drink cider, ride the hay wagon, and each pick out our own pumpkin to carve. Then we would all sit around and come up with ideas, draw them on our pumpkins and my Dad would help us carve them out. Mom would roast the pumpkin seeds while we worked on our masterpieces. Then we would line our carved creations in the front window and light them up.

I wanted to start this tradition with my family too, so we stripped Maci down and let her help with the pumpkin gutting. She was really hesitant at first but once she realized that messy can be fun she let loose for a few minutes. She mainly loved throwing the "goop scooper" in the pumpkin and getting it back out.....what are you gonna do?
I had the brilliant idea of making it a Ragn-O-Lantern..... we traced one of the thousand shirts we have lying around and transferred it to the pumpkin.... Tan spent the next 2 hours carving it. Yes. 2 hours.....he was concentrating so hard he got a runny nose. (I don't know, that's what happens when he concentrates hard ;).
Turned out great though. I thought.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

That's awesome...I love them. Hopefully Tan's hard working runny nose doesn't keep him from working hard still :)
I'm glad you guys started that, what a fun tradition.
I love the Ragn-o-lantern!! That's awesome!It's even orange! How fitting :).
Killer pumpkin!! I love holiday traditions! Glad Maci's doing better!
Okay I love the pumpkins, But I hate croup! Both of my kids get it and a few times have had to go to the ER!! It totally freaks me out when I hear that high pitched barking cough! I feel for you!
I am impressed! I am lucky to get eyes, a mouth and nose!
What a fun tradition! Your pumpkin turned out great, very cool. That is cute that Maci helped out, it looks like she had fun.
wow I am very impressed with that ragn-o-lantern. Josh was the same way, we went to a fhe with a family in our ward and he was working on his masterpiece for at least an hour and a half while I chased the kids around. awesome. hey I just read about your scary ordeal with maci, I am so sorry that sounds terrifying. I am so glad she is okay now.
Interesting that Tanner's nose runs if he concentrates. I start to revert back into werewolf form if I concentrate too hard.
