Whoops!!
As I was leaving Sam's Club this morning Maci was squawking and squealing up a storm. Like any Mom, I am scrambling for something to occupy her (quiet her) so I give her the keys to the car......horrible I know.....germs and all. Strapped into her Schwimp seat she is having a blast turning the alarm on the keyless entry on and off. Yeah people are looking wondering why I'm not doing anything about my car alarm... but I continue loading my purchased items into the back of the car so I can leave! I shut the back door and walk around to the driver's side when I hear the "click, click" of the lock....... I might have said a less than choice word...I don't remember. Maci hit the Lock button on the remote and is completely obliviously to the fact that I am locked out. So, I am standing there staring at Mace through the window, as she is smiling back making her goofy faces, waiting for her to 'accidentally' play with the unlock button. Fifteen minutes and lots of humiliating offers to help me later and she finally hits the unlock button. Wow. Yeah, I learned my lesson.

Scary! I must admire your bravery to share that story...let's just hope that Adam doesn't read this or you (and I) won't hear the end of that for a LONG time. Glad that she is okay :)
P.S. I demand pictures of my little piggy niece
Kristen, there should be some sort of club for moms that lock their kids in the car with the keys:) Heather did the exact same thing with Kenadee in San Francisco; except that Kena was in the driver's seat and the fire dept. had to come unlock the car. Ask her about it some time and you guys can start a club:)
Ben Mishler
PS. Heather will probably kill me for this comment.
Kristin, i always LOVE reading your blog, So funny! I'm sure it wasn't at that moment. :)
Wow, you've had a lot of mommy initiation lately, the ER, locking your child in the car... welcome to the club!
In all our years I've never heard you use a "choice" word.....now that tells me that full extent of your story! Ha!
Oh, that is too funny & very familiar! I have done things like that SO many times. That darn mommy brain gets us every time! Glad you can laugh about it already. We keep saying we'll get together... call me!
That is the funniest story I've ever heard.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That is hilarious!! I mean I'm sure it was a little scary there for a while, but I can just imagine the whole scene! Sounds like she was just having a grand old time!
well...at least its cold weather right? Every mom is bound for some really horrible moments. Like the time when I was feeding Jeffy and Caitlyn escaped from the house with friend in tow and went for a walk around the neighborhood! I have never prayed so hard in my life! and cried so much after!
Does it make you feel any better to know that I've done the very same exact thing years before with Halen. It's almost as if you have to go through these things at least once as a mother. We all feel your pain and know exactly how you feel! If those darn kids just wouldn't scream we wouldn't have to swear, right?
Oh how I can empathize with that! Except we don't have automatic locks..it was Tucker being a 2 year old and thinking he was funny manually locking them all! Oye vay! Glad she finally hit the right button! :)
