So Cal with "Chrisly"

After worrying myself silly, over packing, cleaning like a mad woman, crying about leaving my Schwimp Dimple, planning, planning, worrying and anticipating.....we finally made it on vacation. Those of you who know us well know that we have to spend A LOT of time apart during the "busy race season" (May to Oct.) And since I was large with child last year we haven't been able to take vacation alone together since our Honeymoon! So we found a killer deal on a Baja Cruise, begged Chris and Karly to let us visit, and left the Grandmas to fight over Maci. Our flight left SLC at 6am.....meaning we had to get up at 4 am. Needless to say both of us were pretty incoherent until we arrived in the O.C. that afternoon (it is ridiculous for there to be layovers on flights that only take 1 1/2 hours!!) Chris picked us up and showed us around Dana Point and their darling little apartment. It was weird to see my Brother living in a place without tractor tires as part of the decor ;)
We got to spend a day on the Beach (I do NOT approve of your picture Karly Atherton Cahoon!!), shopping, visiting my Dear grandma, laughing, sitting in traffic, searching for YogurtLand, sleeping, and getting to know our new sister-in-law.

It was SO much fun. I am officially very jealous that they can walk to the Beach whenever they want in less than 5 minutes. Chris is living my dream! (well, part of it)

So we get to the Beach and Karly and I lay out our towels, get comfy with our books and relax in the sun. Chris is in a full blown wet suit playing on his body board..... out of nowhere my crazy hubby rips off his shirt and dashes for the frigid water. We hear screams and then nothing as he dove into the waves. He swam out to Chris and right back.... I don't think he was able to breathe for most of that time. As he waddled back to our spot his lips turned blue and he had a serious look of regret in his eyes. There is one thing Tanner will NOT do...... and that is pass up the opportunity for experience or fun. He's nuts!
Chris got us tickets to the Jay Leno show in Burbank one day; so we left 2 1/2 hours before we needed to be there and sat in traffic for 3 hours. We missed the show but were able to finagle our way into an MTV show called "Rock the Cradle"... it was a lot of fun! We sat directly behind the Judges and my knee, tanner's elbow and Chris' hands made frequent appearances throughout the show! The coolest part was getting to see M.C. Hammer, Bobby Brown, Olivia Newton John, and their kids in person. It was fun acting like a star-struck tourist! Thanks Bro!
The last night we were there Karly made us the famous Atherton Tacos... they were pretty incredible! Thanks for spoiling us and letting us take over your home!
