My sweet Brother drove us down to San Diego where we boarded the Carnival 'Elation'. We were all dressed up so that we could go to "my temple" ( I LOVE the San Diego Temple) but apparently none of us quite grasp the traffic situation and we didn't have time to catch a session. I was so bummed! But luckily we were able to find a Baja Fresh to ease my pain ;)
It was so very chilly as we pulled out of San Diego Harbor!! I was really worried and disappointed as we left..that was not the weather I had bargained for (or packed for).
We got settled in and explored the ship for a few hours. Prior to boarding we signed up to eat formal meals every night at an assigned table thinking it would be fun to meet new people.... well, within the first 5 minutes Tanner and I were both looking at each other thinking "Big Gulps huh?" Two of the couples were in there 40's-50's and would NOT talk to us.....despite Tanner's 20 questions..... one of them wouldn't even look at us. The other 4 at the table were from Japan and unbeknown to us 2 of them didn't even speak English. It was not fun! I think Tanner was worried I was going to jump overboard and bail out.... I wasn't too far from it :0
I had a rough time with the sea sickness the first night......thinking who on earth thinks this is fun!?!
When we got back to our room that night this surprise was waiting for us..... Merlyn (our "stateroom steward") had made us this crazy cute seal out of a towel. That made me smile big time! Lame I know.... I am easy to amuse.
