Waikoloa, Hawaii A.K.A Paradise

Since I shared the "business" side of our amazing Hawaiin get away...I thought I'd share the fun side too.... This nerdy looking device is called a hydro bike...

Thanks boys for demonstrating their proper nerdy use.

This is a view at the Waikaloa Marriott. It was ridiculously extravagant. Over the top. Unreal.
And NO. We did not get to stay there.

We did, however, ride the gondola/ferry boat from one side of the resort to the other for lunch :)

I had to look at this awful view while dining :)
(there were actual sharks in that water swimming around)

We rented Kayaks from a street side shack, stopped at an all natural cafe/store to grab lunches, drove to Captain Cook Bay and spent a few hours snorkeling, swimming, picnicking and singing for the dolphins. (they tell you that if you sound happy and joyful than the dolphins will come up to you...it didn't work. But Jamie and I tried our hardest.)

Captain Cook Bay

The strange monument to Captain Cook

My kind of picnic....Fresh veggies, hummus, Hawaiian spring water, and a turkey wrap.
It was a little precarious at times, yet still very enjoyable:)

A very unflattering picture of us in the kayak.....

I wish we had an underwater camera so that you could see the incredibly clear the water was and the most beautiful reef we snorkeled.

We spent a lot of time on the beach soaking up the warmth and sun, reading, watching Modern Family episodes while eating tropical fruits, shopping and sleeping. Ideal.

After a not-long-enough dream trip...waiting in line to check in for our flight home.

This is how we felt about leaving our new found paradise :(

So good to get away.....SO much better to come home to this

It's always good to know you're missed ;)

Awesome pictures. It looks like you guys had a great time. We LOVE Modern Family. Caleb honestly quotes it all the time.

I'm a little concerned about the sharks swimming in that pool then to see you in a kayak and the thought of you guys going snorkeling there is terrifying!
