I LOVE celebrating.
I can always come up with something that should be or can be celebrated. As a kid I remember my Mom making a big deal out of every holiday either with a special meal, little gifts, decorations, special outings or games....I loved it. Having said that, I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's Day. I don't like the idea of it.....that just ONE day out of the year we should express our love with chocolate or roses or gifts. Don't get me wrong, I go all out! I've had red, pink and white decor out since mid-January ;), heart shaped PB & J's, matching pink and red outfits for the Girls, sugar cookies and cupcakes, hearts everywhere, planning a feast of Tan's favorites..... but to me love doesn't mean going to a fancy dinner because it is the middle of February, or getting jewelry and I'm not much of a flower girl (although I'll ALWAYS accept a new pair of shoes).
The littlest things mean the most to me.
LOVE is......
- The 12 hour old bread pudding that Tanner meticulously wrapped and stowed in his carry-on all the way home from Tennessee because he saw it at lunch and knew I would love it ;)
- The sand dollar I keep in my glove box that Tanner found while body surfing in Mexico this summer and sent back up to the beach house for his wife who was too tired and pregnant to sit on the beach.
- The tiny pats I get on my back as I snuggle my Schwimp in the morning.
- The gurgling laugh of our tiny little Pippy.
- The veggie tray I got in my stocking at Christmas ;)
- The mid day phone call just to see how my day is going.
- The weekly tickle torture just to hear me laugh and see me smile.
- Watching a proud Daddy make playdoh snakes and blow bubbles with his adoring two year old princess.
- Holding me while I vent or cry or pout.
- Making sure I make my date with Gym, even when He'd rather keep me home.
THAT is LOVE to me!!
