Thing 1 and Thing 2

Because I am camera-less at the moment I borrowed these pictures from Cara's blog....I did take them, however, they do the situation no justice. It was a DISASTER. The cutest, funniest most innocently produced disaster I've ever seen. I was watching Cambria while Ad and Cara were out one morning last week. It was an especially loud morning due to an endless string of teasing, hitting, crying and mischievousness......pretty much a typical description of a Maci/Cambria reunion ;) After battling over toys and bribing them with Sesame Street I promised snack time......
Silly me. I set out snacks and got them situated at the counter.....on opposite sides of the counter. It didn't even register in my mind that a FULL, OPEN bag of powder sugar was sitting on the counter between them. Rookie mistake.

I went to the Restroom for 2 minutes (that's allowed right?.....I even left the door open so I could hear them). A welcome sound of giggling, excitement, and "yook Tambwia......Hey Mace!" came from the Kitchen. I thought to myself "how nice! They are FINALLY getting along!" (another rookie mistake).

Almost instantly Thing 1 and Thing 2 are standing in front of me COVERED in powdered sugar. In shock, I followed them to the kitchen where it looked like a serious cocaine bust had taken place......it was everywhere! I'm talking inches in some places. As they ran around in circles there were puffs of white dust coming off of their persons!! No joke! After I stopped laughing (it was either that or curl up and cry) it took me a good five minutes to capture them both as they were running in different directions trying to jump on furniture or traipse down the hall.... I stripped them down and semi-nicely "threw" them in the shower (serious rookie mistake) only to have to chase two soaking wet "nakey giws" around a house covered in powdered sugar. AHHHHHHH!

After several miserably failed attempts at cleaning it up while trying to keep the girls from spreading the mess or making it a sticky mess..... I had to wrangle them both in the TV room until Ad and Cara got home. The look on their faces was priceless! The clean up was much faster with 3 adults ;)
Note to self: Don't leave the Terrible Two unsupervised period. Especially not with a full bag of powdered sugar.

AHH!! That's crazy! We've done paint and flour, but I don't think it's been quite that extensive! We'll just chalk it up to 'artistic expression'! ;)

Don't you wish that Thing 1 and Thing 2 came built in with a Cat in the Hat that would magically clean it all up?

HA! What stinkers! So glad you had the mommy smarts to take pics. ;)
