Ringin in the New Year P.C. Style

It is long time tradition for the Bells to spend New Years in Park City with the Hackett Family. It is a real privilege to receive the invitation and an honor to be there. Every year I think, "There is no way it will be this much fun next year.." but it ALWAYS is . The Hackett's are such an incredible family. Rory and Linda are angels....not only because they raised four amazing boys (all single ladies...catch 'em while you can) but because they are the most generous, happy, loving, accepting, fun and all around genuine people you could meet! After dropping Taylor off at the MTC we went home and let my sweet Mother-in-law nap for a few hours.... then packed up and drove up to Park City. Nothing too exciting for the big New Years Eve.... everyone bailed so it was just the "old" couples....we all fell asleep watching 'Roxanne'. It was pretty depressing! Maci didn't feel like sleeping that night.....at all. Literally she woke up at 12:30 as we were getting into bed. She wanted to play around and laugh and chat all night. I finally made Tanner go sleep on the couch so that he could get some sleep since everyone was supposed to go skiing in the morning. Maci and I "played" until 5:00 a.m......... what is it with the Park City/Heber area?!? She refuses to sleep there! So while everyone else went skiing Maci, Linda, Lizzy and I stayed home and lounged about! Pretty good excuse huh ;)

After everyone got home that night we all went out to eat at "The Eating Establishment" on Main Street. Good stuff. The crew above..

Tash and Lizzy...

Ha! Lizzy zonked out after skiing....er.... I mean lounging ;)

Dan and Tiff post-skiing pre-dining nap....

Parker on the Left, Linda and JW on the right.....

Tiff and Dan.
Happy New Year!!

I can't believe 2008 is already gone. I have learned so much and accomplished quite a few things last year.....

  • made it past the 1 year mark with my first kid,
  • survived another year of Ragnar traveling,
  • trained for and rocked my first marathon,
  • accepted a new and challenging calling of primary chorister,
  • got to see Chicago for the first time,
  • Welcomed home a Sister,
  • became a better nurse,
  • learned that I am stronger and braver than I thought,
  • loved and served my Husband and daughter,
  • Only accrued 1 speeding ticket!
  • Gained a greater appreciation of my Family and what can be accomplished with support and love for one another...
  • Constantly discovered my imperfections and short comings....and accepted it

Not too bad 2008..... we'll see what 2009 has to offer :)

What a fun tradition, Kristen. Although Maci not sleeping, not so fun. You're nice to take one for the team and let Tanner get some sleep. I loved all the pictures, what cute families. Happy New Year!

I can't believe Maci goes on sleep strike every time you go there! I'm sorry! Sounds like a fun New year though! Here's to 2009...

Looks like you had a fun New Year (except the no sleeping Maci!) :) That is the worst part for me when we are out of town and all sleeping in one room. Melatonin is now my secret weapon when we go out of town.
