Yeah, it's been one of those days. We drove up to Heber last night to meet some friends for Dinner and stay the night at their condo. It was so fun to be with them, chat, reminisce and watch the kids play together. Maci went down for the night around 10 and did just fine tucked away in the closet pack n' play. Not a peep. Until we decided to go to bed around 1 a.m. ......then it all spiraled into a miserably awful experience. Maci woke up the moment we got settled into bed. We waited a minute, put in the binky, waited another minute, put her in our bed, waited a few more minutes, made her a bottle, rubbed her tummy, sang her lullabies, rocked her, shushed her.....minutes turned into hours and to no avail. Tan and I were wrecks! I am sure our friends in the next room heard EVERY cry, scream, shush and frustrated stomp! So she finally stopped crying around 4:30 in the morning when she fell asleep on the floor wrapped in my Pajama pants ;) (whatever it takes right?) As we emerged from our room around 9, I'm sure we were quite the sight! We apologized profusely and of course we got the "Oh, we understand...we have kids too"... uh huh... all the other kids slept like angels. We packed up and headed for home in a daze of sleeplessness. Of course it had snowed all night and the roads were terrible. We made it about 10 minutes before Maci puked a massive amount of....well you know....all over herself and her car seat. It was awful! We couldn't pull over because of the snow and lack of plowing, so poor little Mace had to sit there in IT for about 15 min until we could find a gas station in Park City. So I carry her by the belt loops into the bathroom and "bathe" her in the gas station sink...screaming the whole time...Maci that is. Tanner said people in the gas station kept turning and looking at the bathroom door wondering if they should check in on me. Meanwhile, Tan is cleaning out the car seat with baby wipes...gagging the whole time. After we "bagged" the pukey clothes Tan held the pukey baby while I went out to make sure the car seat was decent (not that I didn't trust Tan's efforts :)) Remember it is still snowing...I step outside the door and next thing I know I am on my hands and knees in the snow....in my Pj's (yeah, I thought we were just going home....hadn't slept...)in the gas station parking lot.
We finally get back on the road and make our journey home. Tan and I just looked at each other and he said " .....and our PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!" He is amazing. He always finds a way to make me smile. The crappiest of days are never THAT bad when we get to do it together. It was one of those days you never want to remember but you'll probably never forget. Needless to say Maci and I took a LONG nap!

That's hilarious! You need those kind of experiences in life so you have something to laugh at LATER. HA! I miss you!
Oh Kristin, I'm so sorry!!! We've had a few of those nights and when we're away from home and some or all of the kids get sick and there's just nothing worse but then top it with being worried about your child keeping everyone else up and it's truly miserable!!!! I hope you're all doing better.
I'm so sorry! We were worried about you guys driving home - not because of puke, but the roads were so horrible! That's a terrible experience, but at least you could get a laugh out of it! We had so much fun with you guys... sorry you didn't get any sleep though!
I am totally giggling because your nightmare is officially over. What is funny is that we truly did sleep through Maci's all night party. Can you believe we were all such sissy parents that NONE of us were up to partying with her? Gosh- we are all losers!
And Maci- I'm so sorry that you weren't feeling well. There truly is nothing worse than snow, puke and sleeplessness. And when you're pets heads are falling off. I am so glad that you came in spite of your lack of sleep and the ensueing horribleness for you.
My GOSH you poor thing!!! That totally sucks. I'm so glad you made it home safely. Nothing like a good puke in the car to make a special memory.
Yikes...don't worry we all have days like that. I'm just amazed you handled it so well. I definately need to learn to do that. Love your above post.
That sounds like quite the experience! Poor Maci! I haven't had the pleasure of cleaning up Max puke yet(besides milky spit-ups)... but I'm sure my day will come sooner than I'd like! Love you!
Oh Kristin that is so crappy. there seriously is nothing worse than a kid who wont sleep and then when your feeling pressure to keep them quiet, ugh. Glad you can laugh bout it.
